"The device will also include the C2 modem, which will be the company’s first cellular chip with capabilities approaching the latest from Qualcomm."

Apple is using the same C1 modem in the upcoming iPhone 17 Air 2025 release and moving to the C2 for the foldable release now set for 2026. Still no mmWave until - maybe - 2026.

The above quote blithely asserts that the C2 has "capabilities" approaching the latest from Q. I interpret that to mean the C2 will approach (a very vague term) in late 2026 what Q offered in early 2025 or even in 2024. (Doesn't matter to Apple aficionados, as good enuf seems just fine.)

(Question: are mmWave IPs included in the 5G standard and, therefore, SEPs? Google AI says yes, but i don't really trust its answers when drilling down this far.)

Foldable iPhone coming next year to feature four cameras, Touch ID, Apple cellular modem - 9to5Mac share.google

"The Apple C1 modem debuted in the iPhone 16e. This chip will also appear in the slim iPhone 17 Air model. Next year, Apple will launch its next-generation C2 modem, which supports faster speeds. The C2 modem is what will be included in the Apple foldable device."
