I've been pretty satisfied with PFFA, near 10% yield and not much volatility. I haven't owned that long tho. Going on about a year now, April tariff tantrum was a nice time to pick up shares which I did.

People used to speak of a "penny jar" a ways back. While I made regular investments in PFFA at the outset, I now use it as a penny jar too.

fwiw

I bought 500 shares of PFFA 1/22/2025 for $11,055 with today's price of $22.11 mkt value of $10,832.50 so -$222.50 with 7 dividends of $85 = +$595-$222.50 = +$372.50.

372.50/11,055 = 3.36% if my math is correct

Not so good but actually improving over the low of $19.20 on 4/7/2025

If it's anything close to today's price in Nov/Dec I will keep it.

Thinking opinions would vary by purchase price.

I have a modest position of both AMLP and PFFA in my tIRA. So far so good. Looking to build both. Dripping for now.

re: PFFA - do not buy PFFA is you are looking for capital growth as this is strictly an income play using preferred stock. It may move a little up or down in price but I'm very satisfied with the income it generates.
