Contacted Investor Relations today. I was concerned that the company had made some announcement(s) and/or had an analyst lower earnings estimates/ratings. IR said that the stock had been weak recently due to a competitors annoucement (believe it was KLA) of lower expected earnings in memory test equipment. Also, believe an estimate was released today on the expected growth in the semiconductor sales in 1998. IR said the company has completed repurchasing 500,000 shares and has not made any announcements; not, is it aware of any brokerage firms lowering ratings or estimates. If the stock holds the $25 range for the next day or so, I plan to purchase more shares.
