Running or jogging is repetitive impact and at 'advanced' ages the risk of an injury that takes you out of the 'game' is too high for most people.

I ran for years as cross training for other sports and just for fun. Not particularly fast wrt distances but numerous 10ks, a couple of half and one full marathon.

Moving quickly or even running in short spurts(tennis), or running hills with uneven terrain, dancing, racquetball, soccer, Zumba, or many other forms of exercise are superior with respect to hips, knees, and ankles which are all that matters re mobility and mobility is the sine qua non of physical exercise.

If Mr Rodgers and others are able to withstand that repetitive impact then more power to them but there are superior exercise formats.
