[What r u, some kind of commie? Or are you just so far out of it as to be anti-American?}

It's weird -- when you tell people you are living a debt-free life they either think that you are a right-wing survivalist or a Communist.... <grin>

Here's a Web link on frugal living that might be informative: igc.apc.org

I happen to live in Orange County, CA, one of the (seemingly) affluent parts of the U.S. All around me, I see people rushing to buy new cars and homes, packed shopping centers, and businesses expanding like mad. And, it's all being done with borrowed money. (Considering that our own county government went bankrupt a few years ago, the people here should know better than to live largely on credit.)

If you want a sound bite comment, here's one: "It is possible that some of these people are going to be forced to sleep in their Mercedes". (When they lose everything, because of their overarching debts and putting all their spare money in the stock market bubble.)

As far as the market goes, I'm looking for a few solid, undervalued companies, but they are difficult to find in this market.
