Speaking of box cars after my Grandfather died my Grandmother had to leave the farm as the eldest boy inherited it as was the custom at the time, this was in the great depression. I have a pic of my family in front of an old train box car they lived in for awhile in Alberta

no a BC box was a simple home built as cheap as possible. It had one bathroom upstairs and one down stairs In my bedroom. The unfinished basement had a ceiling so low you could hit your head on the pipes. Only one main level that had 3 bedrooms, living room, small dining room, kitchen and laundry room. There was a crawl space attic. A small free standing garage suited only for a model t.
