Great post Rick. I agree with everything, except the timing. ABX will be dictating the timing and PFG (Shrake's comment) has just left a lot of wiggle room.

Rick, I would quietly do some geophysics on the newly bought(Fantasma) properties as well as some drilling to at least fortify my armamentarium for any upcoming talks, whenever they might be. Now is the nice summer drilling season down there and drills are cheaply and plentifully available now.
I suspect that Barrick has a "rolling study" going on that they update as they drill and make a better deposit model with each drill hole. With modern computer processing you can do this and avoid the long delay that you would have had in the past to do the study. Once the study of the rock is done by Lakefield Labs in Chile(it should hace been done by now) the nature of the mine/mill/leach process would be known. Once they have drilled to a certain size deposit they will not make a bigger operation, they will make a longer running one.
Modern modelling/scheduling allows most of this work to be done with the data as each hole is acquired and the deposit expended and recomputed. Just do not waste big money on maps and prints until you have reached a final scenario. This talk of mid March as a deadline ??.
If the gold gurus see gold will fly in mid march or April, they will want things tied down on the cheap. So how are the forward gold prices a few months out??
