Thought I posted reply but see it didn't go through. Many of these pimco debt cefs-PDI, PTY, PAXS- run by same managers who managed multisector bond funds. e.g. PIMIX which I owned.. In simplist form it is highly leveraged debt. But the managers also use derivates, swaps, reverse repos, etc. Despite data supplying earnings, unii, roc, etc. etc. it to me still remains obscure. I try to keep it simple by noting its NAV, which lately stable, and distribution history. Its yield tempting especially in declining rate environment. But seeking input difficult for has almost cult like following, and they were crushed just few years but back now in force. So am seeking input from objective investors, well versed in debt. Thanks. .
