"The American system is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. A democracy, if you attach meaning to terms, is a system of unlimited majority rule . . . a form of collectivism, which denies individual rights . . . . The American system is a constitutionally limited republic, restricted to the protection of individual rights. In such a system, majority rule is applicable only to lesser details, such as the selection of certain personnel. But the majority has no say over the basic principles governing the government. It has no power to ask for or gain the infringement of individual rights." Ayn Rand

“It is a grave error to suppose that a dictatorship rules a nation by means of strict, rigid laws which are obeyed and enforced with rigorous, military precision. Such a rule would be evil, but almost bearable; men could endure the harshest edicts, provided these edicts were known, specific and stable; it is not the known that breaks men’s spirits, but the unpredictable. A dictatorship has to be capricious; it has to rule by means of the unexpected, the incomprehensible, the wantonly irrational; it has to deal not in death, but in sudden death; a state of chronic uncertainty is what men are psychologically unable to bear.”
Ayn Rand

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. ... God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion; what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms."
Thomas Jefferson to William Stephens Smith, 1787

CJ, the MAGA cultists have convinced themselves that pathological lying pays very well.

They lied about how important grocery prices are, because they continue to skyrocket without a peep out of them.

They lied about Trump not sending the military after our own citizens. Not only is it happening, but they're cheering it on like it's North Korea.

They lied about Trump only going after the "violent illegals first, the wurst of the wurst." ICE-IS is clearly prioritizing volume over due process, and MAGA is enjoying the cruelty of it all.

They lied about how Trump won't pick winners and losers, because he's doing exactly that.

They lied about how important the Epstein files are to them. Trump does a complete 180 on their release, and they're now like "Oh well."

It all comes down to one thing. So. Much. Winning.

The more they lie, the more they are "winning."

All the MAGA cultists on this very thread are liars. Every single one of them.

You cannot have a functional democracy when 40% of the public is engaged in pathological lying.
