I suspect much of the C1X features were originally planned (and put in place) when the C1 was launched. This 2nd launching of base modem product looks like a set up in order to demonstrate basic superiority within their sphere and progress towards a C2. It will be most interesting to see specific C1X capabilities, how they derived their 2x factor and where C1X is more "capable" than the X71. Suspect some of this (or maybe much) will be hidden within the fabbing (ie the parts than no one can ever confirm nor deny). Typical Apple. We shall see.
