Interestingly, your post as well as Worswick's, and then my own hint at a recurring theme, and that is that there is a desire for change, but the would be agents for that change are not vocal. I think you are right about the role of the Japanese press. I witness the same here in Malaysia although without the subtlety seen in Japan.

Thanks for the post. With your experience you could lend your views on many of the issues discussed here.
