I believe Casey now spends most of his time on his ranch in Argentina. And I consider his comments more relevant than Rogers lately. For Thailand you might be thinking of Marc Faber of the Gloom Boom & Doom Report? I think he spends most of his time in Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand. There was another newsletter writer whose name escapes me and since passed on that spent a lot of time there but I'd have to look it up not being familiar with his commentary. Living in Singapore and Thailand is very different, having spent a decent amount of time in both, and easily connected by a two hour flight... it's a 1st world to 2nd world trip in the major cities and tourist spots, and then a 3rd world journey depending upon which outer provinces you visit. Old Jim needed a stable, safe and secure place to raise his daughters and their learning Chinese so he correctly chose Singapore, imo. They're both fascinating places in their own ways. fwiw.
