While I have attempted to acquire omniscience through various methods over the years, alas, it has managed to escape my grasp. Prudent trading involves prudent risk protection. That would typically involve a stop-loss, particularly on a highly volatile issue that trades 24/7. Asset values rise over time due to the effects of inflation/money supply. My largest swing trading position has a 10% stop-loss, which is massive and something I would not recommend for anyone else. However, it represents a 6:1 risk/reward ratio, with a 60% gain the probable result over a period of weeks.
