Plexus/Ascend sign new manufacturing agreements...

NEENAH, Wis., Oct 7 (Reuter) - Plexus Corp said Tuesday it has signed a manufacturing agreement with Ascend Communications (ASND) for sales valued at between $40 million and $45 million in calendar 1998.

Separately the company also said it has signed a manufacturing agreement with Ohmeda for sales valued at between $12 million and $15 million for Calendar 1998.

The agreement with Ascend is to produce the GX 550 ATM ''Smart Core''switch for worldwide distribution and will make Ascend one of its ten biggest customers, Plexus said in a news release.

Plexus will manufacture for Ohmeda printed circuit assemblies for
anesthesia products.

Plexus shares were up one at 33-3/4.

Ok...so we have VTSS, PMCS, and PLXS. All suppliers of chipsets for ATM gear. I'll make a stop at the VTSS board soon and see if I can find our who's slice of the pie is largest.
