No credible threat at US Naval Academy, governor's office says; Here's what happened A midshipman who was thrown out of the academy made anonymous threats through social media using an IP address in an attempt to make it seem like he was at the academy, according to NBC News. Students were placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. A midshipman who was sheltered in place thought a member of law enforcement was a threat and hit him with a training weapon. Law enforcement then shot the midshipman, who is at a hospital and expected to recover. WBAL tv
