tonyt, thanks for pressing me on this; It was from my memory of
a post a year ago after Ligand topped out over 17, and I realize
that I don't actually remember who the post was from. It is more
likely that it was Richard Harmon, though that too could be a mistake.
(And it is virtually certain that Mike Burke, another guy whose opinion
on biotechs I follow, sold some over 17 then.) So, I will check the
archives and see if I can find the post in question. I have removed
the sentence "Even Henry" from my original post, since I realized
it is based on little or nothing except a memory which I realize is
probably faulty, and will let Henry comment on whether he trades
part of his LGND if he chooses. I vaguely recall that he has outlined
the nature of his interest in LGND and his attitude towards trading it
in the past, so maybe he won't object to repeating it although that's
his business of course. Apologies for posting without thinking carefully.

Anyway, *I* certainly trade part of my holdings, and keep some as a
long-term core, though I often wind up jettisoning the so-called long-term core
at times as well, usually based on overall allocation between cash
and stocks (aka overall market timing).

IMHO, you do have to watch out for "buyer's panic" induced by
reading the LGND thread. And I think that the big move, though
it will start fast, will give us plenty of time to get on board.
It's just that trying to identify the big move may lead to
investing on every short-term spike... and goodness knows LGND has
those on occasion.
