Transgender people have apparently become a focus of "six degrees of separation."

Most older people who don't personally know a transgender person would probably be surprised to know how close they are to someone who does.

Most younger adults probably know a transgender person.

If you don't know any transgender people, but you know several younger adults, you are probably just two degrees of separation away from a transgender person.
