State's Rights were forfeited at the conclusion of the Civil War. Any states rights regarding their individual sovereignty, that is in conflict with Federal law, became a non- issue. Federal law prevails.
Most unfortunate is that the 2nd Amendment is ambiguous, but I do not think the Founding Fathers would agree to exercising any redefinition to the original intent of he law.
It would be most interesting if we could activate the ghosts of the past & pit the authors of the Bill of Rights, i.e. the 2nd Amendment, & a discussion with Antonin Scalia.
