Going for the more expensive to use oil. Producing electricity with the stuff will hamstring many US companies in the future - their electrical costs will be higher than nations that have moved on. Geothermal will be wonderful when it finally gets the bugs worked out and a few plants built.
But in this time and with the present tech - solar makes a lot of sense - lots of RVs have solar charging on them and it works.

I wondered about that myself, but then I noticed states like Iowa get so much from Wind Trump can't really do much I think.

And this is a blood red state.
