Tony and Henry -

Sorry I was away today...I only now have been able to catch up and see that my post evoked a number of comments.

More posts today from a technical perspective (Allan and p2) and Herbert's additional market psychology comments all seem to point to an explosive move for LGND. Of course, fundamental LGND business developments seem extremely solid and, IMO, give great credibility to the technicals.

While I would be satisfied with another 359% run, this time from the $11 low, there have been some even better runs for some bts. Here are a few I found in only a few minutes of looking (I did have a good idea where to look):

IDPH From 3 to 30+ between 1/95 and 4/96
AMGN From 4 to 40 between 1/90 and 1/92
SEPR From 4 to 21 between 12/95 and 9/96
SEPR From 10 to 40 between 7/96 and 9/97

Interesting to see SEPR has had two big runs and many still see it going a lot higher. LGND could well have a second BIG run here.

Tony, I agree if one could perfectly time the ups and downs, in most cases one could make more than a long term hold. However, history shows this short-term timing is extremely hard to do, especially after factoring in the extra time, expense and TAX (short versus long term gain rates). But some are successful and perhaps you are one of those. Please share any insights you might have as to whether LGND is primed for one of those great runs.

Regards to all.
