I don't think so, because what I think the evolutionary routine is for much of the universe, is inorganic, to organic, to intelligence, i.e. the constant being evolution if left to its own devices long enough, will eventually manifest intelligence that can build technology to replace itself with AI and immortality.

If octopuses lived a 100 years, they might have become sentient, and they had hands to build things, primates did at many different levels until they became smart enough to understand quantum physics, and build AI.

I think it helps to have a brain, and arms and fingers-lol!!

If dolphins had legs and arms and fingers, and could talk--well-lol??

evolution is the human species manifest destiny

Only of the human species, that decided to evolve in its own Lamarckian way. Even the Star Trek universe takes place in one galaxy out of many billions. The rest of the cosmos may have other plans.
