Sadly, that's an apt description for both the Jets and the Giants-- a farm system.

Let me flash back to grade school and all the neighborhood football games we used to play-- lots of them. Me and this other kid were always the two fastest by far, so we were never on the same team and we always had to cover each other. You tip your cap if the other guy beats you but of course you want to come out on top. I still remember telling my teammates, hey, if you allow the QB all day to throw, don't blame me if he eventually gets open.

I don't think Daniel Jones was as inept as his record with the Giants shows. But looking at Indy's rushing stats, I'd say his o-line is making him look way better than he actually is. Contrast that to the days of Lawrence Taylor, Leonard Marshall, George Martin, Carl Banks, and Harry Carson... and Joe Montana still found ways to give them fits. Those sorts of matchups are really the only way to gauge true greatness of QBs.

So now Dart gets tossed out there. A no-lose scenario. If he sucks, well, the Giants just suck anyhow. Not his fault. If he provides a spark, that's at least a bright spot compared to being 0 for the season. And if he does truly suck, then I guess we are back to securing yet another top draft pick to develop and trade away!
