What do you think of this quote? If there are that many signing up as a substitute for wired service, why aren't the carriers marketing it that way? How big would this number be after the major issues (calling party pays and unlimited local calling area) are addressed?

said his company's BellSouth Mobility unit already is seeing
a wireless "substitution effect;" a recent survey of
BellSouth's new PCS customers in Louisiana showed that
17 percent signed up for untethered service as a
