But to Palestinians, especially to Gazans, it certainly was. Look up Operation Cast Lead, Operation colorful Journey, Operation Continuous Story, Operation Days of Penitence, Operation Defensive Shield, and so on down the alphabet. They're all conveniently indexed in Tareq Baconi's Hamas Contained archive.org that was published in 2018 and freely available. There were likely other operations in the five years omitted. In 2023, the pressure exploded. But if the Netanyahu regime didn't abet the military wing of Hamas, it would have been a "routine" event with a few dozen casualties, maximum. Instead, the Israeli regime took it as an excuse for the genocide they were craving for.
