Gypsy,
re: "Line Of Life"

I really enjoyed this poem. Its the kind of poem that muses on the ordinary, elevating it to the extraordinary. A kind of "stop and smell the roses" exhortation. It tells us the benefits of being observant and meditative. Perhaps one of the best known examples is Frost's "Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening".

Thanks for posting, is it yours?

Best,
Stitch

gypsy, I do like your poem, Line of Life. We all see these things every day, but how many of us really take the time to look and wonder. Like Stitch said its kind of like, "stopping to smell the flowers"

The Dancer

She silently reflects in the mirror light,
avoids the eyes with radiant spokes,
fusses with her shoes and tights.

She raises her chin, fixed eyes aglow,
rises slowly to her toes, ignores her aches,
graceful arms float up so slow.

She twirls, pirouettes to the swell,
lost in the music memories, forgets
the years of death's dark knell.

She sinks with grace to worn floor,
as the music fades, bows deeply as
ghostly hands applaud, encore.

Encore, Encore
