>>Whats your opinion on CYMI.

Hi Anindo, I am not familiar with the recent developments so I cannot comment on that. I am sure there is a lot of noise on CYMI and ASMLF threads.

There were numerous SEMI presentations in NYC last week which Techie attended. She came back saying that the two companies that were optimistic about growth in 98 were NVLS and ASMLF. Both have gone up by ~15% since then. I think she was lukewarm on KLAC too. I know I am.

Good luck;

Clint

Anindo, Here is more on CYMI from Techie;
************************************************************
Stocks go up not just because people have money but because the bulk of
the people are totally ignorant of what's going on in these companies.
Of course the hallway bull***t you mentioned doesn't hurt either.

Tell him Cymer said 1Q will be down 10-15% sequentially. Tell him Nikon
has started working with Komatsu lasers and rumor is that they are
getting qualified and Cymer may lose Nikon business. This by the way is
confirmed by Cymer and I'm an eyewitness.

Basically Cymer's market is going to be flat to down in 1998 and their
competition (including Lamda Physics) is catching up. That said, let's
push the stock to $80.
