Just read the CPAN stuff for the NIS module, it's read only no write capability.

However, now that you've got me on Perl, my daemon was trying to talk to yppasswd on UNIX, however not being a tty it pukes, but Perl has an expect like, psuedo tty emulator that can hold the conversation on my behalf and fool yppasswd into thinking it's talking to a tty. This idea shows promise.
