where we were in 1930 We're more like 1928. Only this time the oligarchy is better prepared, since at least the time of the Powell memo. All that talk about rigged elections is confession and projection, and the next Roosevelt may well not get elected. Hell, he(?) might not even get nominated, given the Democratic Party's tendency to nominate the most conservative possible candidate. The working and lower middle classes are maybe in 1930, as their world falls apart, but the folks running this country, as well as most folks with assets are still doing just fine.
