Don't buy funds that aren't earning their distribution.

Don't pay double digit premiums for a fund.

Sell funds with double premiums.

When a fund announces a rights offering, either participate or sell the fund.

Don't just buy a fund that is mentioned here without doing your own due diligence.

How's that for a start? :)

Was gonna PM this but others might find it useful.

DVK wrote a series of 7 articles on CEFs a few years ago. I saved them in case I ever decided to start investing in them - I have not BTW so I haven't even read them (and since I know nothing about CEFs can't even say if they're useful).

Anyway, I downloaded them as Word documents. If anyone wants them, PM me your e-mail and I'd be happy to send them.
