The leaders in this this rapidly growing market
are TNL and BELF.

TNL has grown through acquisition but BELF
looks more profitable.

Should one own both stocks or is BELF a better
value?

I do not know if the revenues from the recent acquisition of the magnetics division of Nortel is included in the 9/97 10Q. TNL through their division Pulse Engineering, specializes in transformers and common mode chokes. The garden variety chip inductors and chokes are not significant to TNL. A few months ago they acquired the magnetics division of Nortel and it seems that as a condition of the sale they were assured of present and future sales to NT. I tried to design in an existing Midcom and Valor transformer into a xDSL design and was told to go and get one designed by Pulse Eng. Transformers and common mode chokes are used in ISDN, xDSL modems, regular modems, VF line cards, power converters, T1/E1 lines (CSU/DSU, short haul, T1/E1 repeaters), and to meet EMI regulations to name a 'few'.
Valor, Bell Fuse and Midcom are competitors.
