Bill,
You are correct I have since seen some posts indicating JT did indeed try and calm the crowd. I have also since seen a lot of really inappropriate comments. Like Rory said I don't care what you say before and after but not while I am hitting or in the prep process to hit.

Real black eye on the event. I watch on Both USA tv and Sky sports

I have played in a Ryder cup style event many times and most are fun ones but there is a pretty competitive one I no longer am good enough to make but at 59 I finished 2 strokes out of qualifying last year. every two years we travel to another club and play over two days. Our best 12 against their best 12.

About 25 years ago I am on our team and we are coming to 17th hole I am playing a better player and he is up one he chips to a foot I concede the putt for par and I need to sink a 15 footer over a green that suffered some winterkill Just to half the hole. I Miss I lose 2&1.

Not sure where the overall competition was at - I think we were well ahead. He concedes the 15 foot putt to me. He said something to the effect of " Im not winning a match making you putt over that crap" we halfed 18 and he still won - Class move
