If you do not want to participate or sell your shares, you could sell your rights offering. It won't amount to much but it is still something. That is what I did and yielded about $100 on the sale.

Your shares are getting diluted. You could have sold on the day of the announcement and buy back cheaper after they finish the rights offer and reprice the shares. That is usually what happens with these.
If you are going to hold your shares and not participate at least sell the rights.
The math can get a little complicated, this is where it pays to have a service like Stanford chemist or Doug Albo. Sometimes it pays to just buy the rights on the market.
For what it's worth, D. Albo put out an article on it a couple of days ago with a buy.
