No, he was an antivaxxer before. Killed a bunch of kids in Samoa before COVID by exploiting autism fears of the MMR vaccine. I didn't associate him with the proto-MAGA crowd at the time, though. He was just another health and fitness nut. As far as Cuomo, he was playing politics. He was legitimately catching flack because of his initial response to the issues. While not a huge fan of Big Pharma, and the FDA had its problems, the vaccines seemed to be safe enough, especially in light of we still were grappling with how to keep people alive if they got sick. And that was before we knew of long COVID. I find this baffling, TBH. A childhood friend of mine died from COVID because he was afraid of the vax and thought masking and social distancing was for losers. He lost.
