One of the main reasons LOC pricing fell out of favour is that the off-shore body shops always win on price, even if they are not offering an automated solution. Also the nearer we get to 2000 the less Y2K projects are viewed as ordinary IT projects, and therefore the guy signing the order wants to know is it going to work first time, not have I saved my company an extra few cents. I would expect contract prices to continue to rise, but LOC/pricing calculations are probably not a relevant calculation. Probably more relevant would be a %age of company spend on infrastructure and/or IT.

Has everyone seen the March 1st edition of BusinessWeek? If the problem was ever anywhere other than centre stage it is now firmly in the spotlight.

Keep smiling
