Tuesday at OFC WDM is king at the OFC exhibit By Kristin Lewotsky news.photonicsonline.com (Ciena excerpt) Ciena Corp. (Linthicum, MD) further consolidated its position in the WDM market by releasing the MultiWave 4000, a 40-channel long haul WDM product, and the MultiWave Firefly, a dense WDM product developed specifically for use by carriers in short haul, point-to-point applications. The MultiWave Firefly multiplexes up to 24 channels at 2.5 Gbit/s over a single fiber pair for a total capacity of 60 Gbit/s.
