RE: Also, AOD is up like ~15% YTD, so wouldn't I be buying at the peak here? In a market like this, I prefer a fund beating SPY at NAV rather than a laggard. It still trades at a 5%+ discount and I look at the 50% of the proceeds from the VZ sale as a nice buffer to the downside. I get where you are coming from, we just go about buying CEFs differently. I don't mind buying and selling them because I believe that is where alpha is created in the CEF space. I don't own AOD and probably won't be buying, I don't want any more CEFs at this moment.
