That's a beautiful thing! I could see doing that with a part of the portfolio to reduce single company risk.

Probably bad phrasing on my part; don't need to necessarily have telecom in my portfolio. Just looking at options.

Re: Why not buy XLC and pair it with XLCI (Comm sector option fund) it is paying double digit distributions.

I'm strongly considering selling both GIS and PG in my rollover IRA and reinvesting that as 1/3 XLP, 1/3 XLSI and 1/3 to cash.

I'd like to also do that with PEP in my taxable account, but I'm assuming the distributions from XLSI will be ordinary income or short-term capital gains.
