Stockman,
TA of AMD is showing a nice bottoming out process but this stock has been such a loser I was hoping for some some more definitive information...rather than funk dog statements like...production is "on track". Track as in run out of town on a rail? <G>
Did you ever get into ASND...now up over 36 from 24...I think I mentioned the TA to you at or under 30...nice 20% if you pulled the trigger. The XAU is getting down to buy territory if you have the guts.
Are you in AMD presently?
Jim

AMD has nearly quadrupled the K6 yield for 300 MHZ plus K6s, according to several reliable, confidential sources. This news will eventually be announced in an analyst conference call shortly after the same high yield is repeatedly duplicated for several hundred more lots. AMD R&D engineers have found problems hindering the yield in masking steps for metal layer photoresists.

I expect the announcement will come out in 3/97 and AMD will explode on the upside as a result.

From the tale of the tape, there have been heavy accumulation for a week now by MMs who also anticipated the much improved K6 yield. I've been an AMD bear for 2 years now. However, with the new and improved yield, I can't, in good conscience, continue to ignore AMD anymore. Therefore, I made my first purchase of AMD since 1985 today and plan to continue accumulating all the way upto low 30's.

IMHO, at low 20s, AMD presents a great buying opportunity. Just imagine AMD went all the way up to 48 1/2 without any real substance on the yield, yet analysts accorded it a target price of $90. With a substantiated yield with which AMD can be comfortably profitable, the upside potential is enormous. It's better late than never to accumulate AMD in the low 20s up to low 30s.
