In the meantime gold outperformed DJIA and S&P500 over the past 12 years.

Should gold keeps going up over 2026, and right the wrongs of 2009 - 2013, then gold out-performs DJIA and S&P500 over 1996 - 2026 (29 years), and that is assuming DJIA and S&P500 do not concurrently tank.

follow-up question: Had one bought 1 troy oz of gold on 31st July or 1 August of each year depending on which day is an actual trading day, the accumulated gold (42 troy oz) would have a cost basis of how much, and what would be the multiple of today's pricing $4,023 ?
