Aptiva is the name of a whole line of computers designed mostly for the home
market. Some models in the Aptiva line come with built-in Zips, and some don't.

So why was this morning's news release viewed as so significant? Does that particular SKU have a huge market share in Japan? Is it the first Japanese PC to come with a Zip built in?

At a minimum, it's nice to see IOM trumpeting their successes. If Imation can generate some press with a release about selling 2000 LS-120's (which represents about 1 1/2 hours worth of Zip sales), then IOM should announce every new model that incorporates the Zip as standard.
