To clarify: This is not a fully independent Qatari air base on U.S. soil. Instead, it's a dedicated training facility within the existing Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) in southwestern Idaho. The base, home to the U.S. Air Force's 366th Fighter Wing, already hosts foreign training contingents, such as Singapore's F-15SG pilots since 2009 under a 25-year program. The new setup will accommodate around 170 Qatari personnel for joint operations.
