I was in a car driving to the airport in Wenzhou, China one evening about 25-years ago. We needed to make the last flight out to Shanghai, and we were very late because our last meeting at a factory ran late.

Our driver drove the car like we were in a Bourne movie or driving for the stunts in the movie "Ronin."

We drove on the wrong side of the road inside a tunnel that was curving to the left......and barely missed hitting a bus head on. We moved double the speed limit or more while we dodged buses and semi trucks for an hour as the sun was setting, weaving all over the road.

Once we got to the road that took us to the airport drop-off, we passed a dead person in the road who had just been hit a few moments earlier...and our driver kept going!

We made the flight out with the help of a political connection once we got to the airport, but I am quite familiar with being in moving vehicles outside the US. I am also quite certain that we can't drive like this in the US yet despite the weakening of the rule of law here.
