I understand your points. I do not disagree with you. This time is different, as you say.

However, I have been correct in my assessment of how the tariffs would be handled going back to April. Maybe I thought the Supremes wouldn't hear it, but that's about the extent of how off I've been going by my memory these last 6-months.

For the Supremes to rule in favor of the administration, the majority in the court would have to be completely corrupted by this administration. I don't think we're there yet.

Roberts for sure isn't going to rule for the tariffs. Coney-Barrett has been doing her own thing, and I think she's more likely to side with Roberts than with the others on this case.

It may be Thomas (who doesn't know the law from a can of Coke), the two frat boys, and maybe Alito who may rule with the administration. However, Alito was supposed to be an OG when it comes to law, so he may join the majority on this one to keep from looking like a tool on such an open and shut case.

6-3 upholding the lower court rulings is the most optimistic outcome I can see for the administration, which means they still lose and the tariffs go away.

pstuartb is the expert on the court, so I defer to him on these things if we're going in the weeds like this.
