I ran into antifa on 3 occasions in STL. They looked real to me, total bunch of assholes. On al 3 occasions I was on my bike.

1) Protest in front of Whole Foods (i don't know why, but they were trying to keep people from enterring. Only 3 of them so I rode my bike on the sidewaalk through their protest.

2) Taking down a Civil War Confederate statue in Forest Park. That one was really interesting because there was a group of Blacks and a group of "pro statue folfs actually having a diiscussion on the statue in a civil manner. Then antifa showed up and all hell broke loose they blocked the park street arm in arm and starting screaming. There were about 20 police cars there and they did not stop the street blockage. I was doing laps around the park and asked them if they would open a path for me to get through. They said NO so I rode on the grass and that pissed them off

3) The other time they were part of a protest march and had street blocked. I had to ride a different route. That was interesting because the week before there was a march / parade for life (there was an abortion mill nearby) and again traffic was blocked. I rode up on my bike and the people stopped and cleared a path for me to go through - all smiles.
