you need a license to watch TV, are there still commercials, too?

Mar 25, 2025 Scottish families have been reminded to check if they qualify for reduced TV licence fees. From April 1, the cost of a standard colour TV licence will rise from £169.50 to £174.50. This £5 increase follows the unfreezing of charges last year, which had been static since 2021.
