Someone who thinks possessing expensive watches and staying in thousand dollar hotel rooms are indications of their worth probably also thinks the same about where someone went to school. I don't share those beliefs. School was just a place to hang out until I could actually get out there and start doing things. It afforded me a place to sleep and a place to eat. The classroom experience was underwhelming. I met some interesting people there, but they were not academics. They were people that had insight into life. The universities' online curricula you mention are perfect for someone like me.
