I wonder if they will be as happy when the fruit of their womb becomes cannon fodder.

From the look of the building, they are likely in Moscow or St Pete. Some place that doesn't sacrifice their children for war effort like those in the expendable countryside. Nyet yet.

There is a schism in the Eastern European countries about the Communist Era.

On one hand there are those who want to condemn it, everything that happened in that era.

Other approach is to reconcile with it, as a chapter in history, which had some bad things about id and also some good things. Russia's approach is the reconciliation.

Communist Era is, for many people, large part of their lives. For may, it is the best part of their lives.

For me, my high school years were probably the best part of my life. I lived in a dorm as a 14-18 year old, experienced a lot of "freedom" that way, just by being away from parents. There was a lot of alcohol, girls, music.

So it is a path of self denial (can't be too healthy) vs. acceptance.
