Bill,

I know nothing about Turbochef and am not speaking as to their validity or lack thereof in the business that they are in, however, what you describe as the functions necessary for cooking a burger appears to me to be the instructions for reprogramming a saved preset. The steps outlined in your post read very similarly to those needed for editing some electronic musical instruments and other devices that are computer controlled but do not have standard interfaces.

Once these presets are in place the matter is settled and I would suspect that either Beavis or Butthead would only have to put the burgers in the oven and hit one or 2 keys at most.

Bill,

Here are the correct instructions for how to cook an item with the Turbochef oven that you speak of:

1.Open cooking chamber door by pulling the handle up, then pull the handle outward until the door opens.

2.Place the food product on the center of cooking platter.

3.Close cooking chamber door by pushing forward on the handle until the door shuts, then push the handle down to latch into place.

4.Press the desired food (group) Cook Setting button.

5.<(nothing was here for some reason)>

6.Press a button numbered 1 to 6 (subgroup) for food quantity or special food definition. The display indicates the food group/subgroup name and cook time seconds (counting down).

7.When the cooking cycle is complete, the oven will beep and the display will indicate "Please Remove Food from Oven". Remove the food product from the oven. Note that the food continues to cook with radiant energy when left in the oven due to the high cook chamber temperature.

8.The cook cycle is now ready to begin again.

(this came from the website that you mentioned in your post)

Just thought I would clear up your assessment of the level of difficulty that you purport to be associated with this product.

My bet is that either Beavis or Butthead could handle this with ease and probably have no business trying to reprogram it anyway.

I do not mean to endorse this company or their product - only to correct your recurring unrealistic (or perhaps I could coin a new word - malrealistic) assertions.

Jim

Have you thought of adding SPLN (Sportline) to your Doom's List?
The company may have something to offer, however, it is grossly overpriced - (in the Yahoo category) ?????

Bill you are truly incredible.

Bill wrote:

<<Turbochef management has schemed to promote the
stock by floating false rumors that Pizza Hut was
interested in Turbochef. The Pizza Hut rumor is
ridiculous. Pizza Hut outlets employ standard
pizza ovens. Turbochef ovens are far more expensive,
much more complicated, and have far less capacity.>>

Ok Bill, here is a challenge. Call the Pizza Hut
in Lewisville, TX. I have done the hard work for
you and called information and got the phone number.
The number is 972-436-2866. Ask them if they
are testing the oven. Talk to a manager. Try
to call during non busy hours so they will
be more willing to talk. Ask them what they think
of it. Report what they say back here. And dont
twist their words around like you did the
instructions on operating the oven.

You can probably afford the phone call since
you started shorting at 18 =).

<<As far as potential sales to other fast food chains are
concerned. Imagine giving your order for two burgers and
fries to some Beavis/Butt-head type behind the counter.
Beavis/Butt-head then cooks your order - but is first
confronted with the following (from the Turbochef
instruction manual at www.turbochef.com):>>

Jim said enough about this and i didnt see any
response to his response. What you pulled out
is very deceiving because like Jim said that
is a pre-programming type deal. When you
call Pizza Hut in Lewisville ask if its hard to
operate. When i called i asked "what is the
best thing about it, and what is the worst".
In the response to the "worst" she said "the
beeping noise it makes". Oh boy if thats
the worst thing it should tell you something.

Bill also wrote:

<<Turbochef possesses no manufacturing facilities.
Instead, it uses subcontractors.>>

The upcoming press release early next week will
address this. Blodgett (sp?) will be manufacturing
the ovens for Maytag. TurboChef will receive
royalties (not confirmed yet)

also

<<So far the company has only managed to *lease* a few
ovens to some obscure restaurants in the UK.>>

They lease and sale Bill. In addition to Whitbread
and TurboChef Inc in the UK, they have also sold
ovens to HFS, 7-11 to name a couple.
