What's kind of funny is that I'm getting the feeling that the street wizards are hyping up the entire market in order to make it to the magic 10,000 mark. Given that Y2K could cause a worst case scenario (their thinking) of at least a 25-50% correction, the higher we go before the eventual day of reckoning the less the real impact on the overall market will be relative to today's valuations.

25% of 10,000 puts us at 7,500 on the Dow. Hell we were just there... :0)

Just a theory and besides they're playing with the money of the investing public for the most part. Either that or we're heading for a serious spate of distribution by the smart money.
