Curlton,

NO MORE BUYING!!!!

I hear you. The way I am approaching this exit is to hold till
Dec 31, 1998 and hope for a freakish event to happen by than.
No sense in dumping with 10 months to go. If nothing happens
or it goes to zero than I have an offset to my other gains.

Think we blew it on this one. Even a good QB gets sacked
now and again. Looking forward to next season. See ya bucks
in Tempe for the rematch with FSU.!!!!!

Regards.

Curly

You must be out of your mind....I don't think luck have anything to do with this stock... It's all due to stupid management, all started when they allowed Alcatel to step on them.

>>>A good way to cover a big risky short position like the one in WSTL may be to sell puts and try to inch your way out or conversely just go on into the market and take the beating.<<<

Curly; This should make that a little more difficult. **Copied from Motley Fool**

By my calculations as of Dec 31,1997, Amerindo Investment Advisors Inc., owned 24.13% of the outstanding shares (that's total outstanding shares Class A&B) of Westell.

edgar.whowhere.com

The filing is kind of confusing but if you look at the table at the bottom you'll see the total shares registered is 8.768 million.

Of the 36 million or so outstanding shares around 20 million shares are held in trust (the Class B shares). There are 15.1 million Class A shares that trade. As of Dec 31, 1997 69 institutions owned 49.6% (next months numbers will be higher because of this filing) of the 15.1 million common and insiders hold 2.11 million. Float of the "A" shares is around 13 million. If Amerindo Investment still has their shares market available shares (current
float) is only around 4.24 million shares. Short interest as of 1/15 was 2.33 million. JS
